I'm just setting up Ionic Rewriter to handle redirects on a large website. I'm expecting to have quite a few rules after a while and, looking at the logs, I realise it's checking every rule for every request - even graphics like the site logo that I know
will always be present.
To prevent it unnecessarily processing all those rules, I was thinking it might be a good idea to have a few rules at the top which trap URLs that definitely don't need rewriting, and use the
L flag to prevent any further processing.
Is this worth doing and, if so, what would be the syntax of the rule? If the rule just spits out the URL it matched, would it not generate a new request that gets sent to the rewriter and matched again... and again... and again?
