Very Simple Redirect

Hi,

First thanks so much for building this, it's really what we need. Once I get it to work of course. :)

I just need to redirect from a bad URL to a good one. I don't at this time want to play around with RegEx's, I just want to do a one to one redirect.

So I've tried the following:

RedirectRule http://appdev/procurement/   http://beta.site.gov/contracting/  [I]

The rule parses just fine, no errors and one rule recognized. I have the logging at level 5 and all looks good there.

So my question is, is the above rule going to work? It seems that it should, or am I missing something? It does not work when I try it. Again, I don't really have time to play around with the nuance of regex and I really don't need to reWrite the url either. Just get them from bad links that we have in PDF's, to the new correct location on the web server.

Thanks for your time and efforts,

Brent Nicholas

I think I may have figured this out, this of course is how it goes. Ask a question online... 30mins later you'll find that answer on your own. :D

I formatted the statements as follows.

RedirectRule /procurement/   http://beta.site.gov/contracting/  [I]

and if I had a deeper path I had to place the most verbose paths first, then the shorts ones last.

Ex:

RedirectRule /procurement/construction/   http://beta.site.gov/contracting/construction/  [I]

RedirectRule http://appdev/procurement/   http://beta.site.gov/contracting/  [I]

It works quite nice.
