thanx Cheeso,

This is from the last bit of the discussion at http://iirf.codeplex.com/Thread/View.aspx?ThreadId=78179&ANCHOR#Post412823
1)below is the log file content.

2)ARR: Application Request Routing is the module that does request routing on IIS by the IIS team. I failed to route with it anyway.
Am thinking i need to uninstall it before using iirf as they do the same job so it could some kind of conflict causing this.

3) I don`t need tomcat to run on port 80, i need it to run on port 8080. can i still use iirf? I used the JK connector first, it was working well only the server, but when accessed from other computers, it could not display the application.

Hoping for a good response on this

ok, thanks for the log.

I see the failure, but I don't understand the reason.  Do you have IIS installed on the machine? Are you running with the administrator permission?

I'll have to research it further, and get back to you.

Hello, Asemakula,

please download this file:  http://www.zshare.net/download/73223928524e814a/

and re-install it.  This is IIRF v2.1, the installer, but I've built-in some additional diagnostics.

Run the install this way:

   msiexec /i Iirf2.1.msi  /l*v  LogFile.txt

...and send me the contents of the logfile.txt file. In reply to your questions...

I think I understand what you're doing with Tomcat.  There can be only one server listening to a port.  You'd like Tomcat to servve some content over port 80, but you have IIS listening on port 80, the default http port.  So you set Tomcat to listen on port 8080, and use the JK connector to relay requests between IIS and Tomcat. All that works without IIS.

I think you want IIS for some other reason, but I don't know what it is.  IIS works fine with Tomcat.  It does not replace the JK connector.

Hullo Cheeso,

Thanx for following up this...

Below is the log.

I have IIS7 installed and i am running the program while logged in as administrator.

as for the other question,

Alright all i need for the start is to get the java application in tomcat to run on any port 80, 9009, 8080 any port. coz i need to test it. Its a tracking java application i need to test with some GPS device, for now.

So i don`t mind where the application runs, but i used iis because i thought i couldn`t run the java tomcat application minus IIS. If i can run tomcat (and access my application from any PC on internet) minus IIS then i would would love that better ( do you think i can ?)

I will be glad to receive a response on this and promise a small donation for your work. You really are helpful.
