Error in Eventviewer IIS

Feb 13, 2008 at 11:42 AM

I installed the isapi filter correctly and it works fine also but i keep getting error's in the event viewer of the webserver
i get this error

Faulting application w3wp.exe, version 6.0.3790.1830, stamp 42435be1, faulting module isapirewrite4.dll, version, stamp 46735071, debug? 0, fault address 0x000067a9.

Anybody has an idea why i'm getting this.

sure sounds like a crash in IIS ? Due to the filter.

Hi, Cheeso
Thanks for the reply
I use a filter to add the extension .aspx to a url
so if you typ "" that it redirects to ""

If i test it out the filter works fine, but indeed the iis keeps crashing

here is my filter

RewriteCond %{HTTP_URL} (/[^.]*)$ [I]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d

RewriteRule ([^.]*) $1.aspx [R,U,I,L]

Thanks for the help

Now i removed my first line of my filter and i am testing it as we speak and it seems better now.
No more faulty eventlogs.

Fingers crossed it keeps that way ;-)

Thanks for your help and for this peace of fine software

Thanks Dellie.
I'll test that ruleset further.
I sure would like to track down the source of your problem.

Dellie, what version of the filter are you using ?

how quickly does the IIS crash? After EVERY url? after 5 minutes? more info please?

Hi Cheeso,

Sorry for the delay but i was out for a moment.

The version i' am using is 1.2.12c

Now the problem with the iis crashes is over when i remove the condition RewriteCond %{HTTP_URL} (/^.*)$ I
but then url's with a variable in it will also be replaced causing an 404 page. i'am still looking in at this one.

So i think we need the first RewriteCondition to be there.

If iis crashes it happens about every 5 to 10 url's if you test on local pc with normal pc. If use test on a webserver it happens about every 15 to 30 minutes.

Thanks for the help

Dellie, can you enclose your rules in double-curly braces so I can see exactly what you are using?
