I am using the Mura CMS and in the past have simply used htaccess or web.config for my url rewriting. I have a host that installed IIRF and I am having some difficulties in getting it to function correctly. In reading through some documentation, it seems that IIRF is similar to htaccess, so I attempted to follow that as a guide in writing my rules in IIRF.ini.

Here is the rule in htaccess...

  RewriteEngine On
  RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}%{REQUEST_URI} !-d
  RewriteRule ^([a-zA-Z0-9/-]+)$ /index.cfm%{REQUEST_URI} [PT]

Here is what I have in my IIRF.ini file...
RewriteBase ON
StatusInquiry ON

  RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}%{REQUEST_URI} !-d
  RewriteRule ^([a-zA-Z0-9/-]+)$ /index.cfm%{REQUEST_URI} [PT]

Here is what I am trying to accomplish...I might have an URL such as http://www.something.com/index.cfm/staff/.
I want to rewrite the URL to http://www.something.com/staff/.
Basically, I want to remove the index page to create a more SEF URL.Anyone have thoughts/ideas?
I greatly appreciate it.

Does anyone have any ideas?

yes, here are my ideas.

  • check out the sample INI files in the IIRF documentation.  They have cases similar to what you are doing.
  • try the testdriver.exe tool that is included with IIRF - it will help you test things out.
  • Turn on IIRF logging and check the logs.  you will gain some insight into the operation of the rules in the filter, using the log.
