/default.asp to root

Hi all,

Just wondering if someone can assist me with the following issue. I have installed the Isapi Rewrite Filter and created the following IsapiRewrite4.ini file:

# IsapiRewrite4.ini
#
# ini file for the ISAPI rewriter.
#
#
RewriteFilterPriority HIGH
RewriteLogLevel 0

# Any incoming URL that starts with /default.asp will be redirected
# to the root directory while preserving any query strings.

RedirectRule ^/default\.asp(.*) /$1 [I,R=301]

I have rebooted IIS and then tested the domain http://www.domainname.com/default.asp to see if this would route me back to http://www.domainname.com.

It would appear the the code is possibly incorrect as it does nothing other than display the page ../default.asp

Can anyone possibly assist me.

Many thanks

Maybe you have a default document (default.asp) configured for the IIS subdir? If that is the case, then you would see an infinite loop of redirections.  So I;m not sure what you're seeing.

Turn on logging (LogLevel 4), and then check the logfile, it will tell you what is happening.
