IIRF rewrite on IIS6 for Drupal

I have spent a frustrating half day trying to get Ionics IIRF rewrite 2.0 to  work with Drupal 6 on a IIS6 server. the IIRF module is installed at the the top of the C drive in its own folder. It appears to be properly connected in the properties ISAPI tab.

At this point I am stumped.  I have been able to break the site (shows home page, but a soon as a php? address is entered, 404 land). When I put the sample drupal file that comes with the installation (renamed to IIRF.ini) into the virtualhost httpdocs folder of one of my domains it does this, otherwise no matter what I have done it is ignored.  I have tried renaming it IsapiRewrite4.ini, I have tried a shorter sample script ,under both file names, I found on this forum.

I am not a coder, so I can't noodle with this file, only alter in broad ways.  Any thoughts or hints or directions, or code?

I don't have drupal, don't know drupal, and can't discuss it with you in any depth.  I suggest that you check this forum list for prior questions on using IIRF with drupal, and

  • read up, maybe there are some hints there that you've missed
  • if that doesn't help, post a followup question to one or more of those threads.  The people who originated those threads may have email notification turned on, and if they do, they'll get notified of your new comment on their thread.  Maybe they'll be able to help you.

Good luck
